Why Does Martin Luther King Jr. Deserve To Have A Holiday?

I think that Martin Luther King Jr. deserve a holiday named after him because he was a famous Black preacher who was also known for his I Have A Dream speech. He also deserve it because, he spoke the truth about slavery, and segregation.

How i celebrated Thanksgiving

Me and my family celebrated Thanksgiving, by staying at home. My sister and mom cooked dinner. It was very delicious. We practically ate all day! lol Before we ate we held hands around the table and recited what we was thankful for. Thats how my mother, my sister, my neice and i celebrated Thanksgiving.

What kind of organizations encourage young people to engage in community service?
What is required of the young people, and wehat are the rewards?


TREND is an organization that encourages you people to engage in community service. When you join TREND, you go around the community and tie red ribbons on the trees, for red ribbon week. We also have pep rally's. We also got stickers to the kids thats states BE DRUG FREE on them. TREND is a very good community service activity to participate in.

The reward is a Trip to the Chicago Bulls Game, Pizza partys etc.. Another reward is that it makes me feel very good in the inside, because i can influence children not to do drugs and alcohol..

--What kind of community service have you volunteered for..

The community service i have volunteered for was when we had a power outage for about a week. I helped pass out waters and lunches for the people around the community. We also gave special dinners for the elderly.. it made me feel really good in the inside to know i couls held out as much as i can. i also got awarded for that at a dinner with the mayor. And got a poster mad and the title was Maya's Story.. and if i could do it again i WOULD :)

Court-ordered Community Service

Court ordered community service is a special program offered to people to help pay there fines. I think it is fair, because some people have huge fines such as $500 etc.. and most people cant afford it! So yes i think its fair. And i think community service is a good name for it, because you are helping out in the communtity. =)

1. i am thinkful for my mother, because if it was'nt for her i would not be here.

2. i am thankful for my sister, because if it wasnt for her my neice wouldnt be here.

3. i am thankful for all of our financial blessings, because we have to survive

4. i am thankful for my pastor, because she is very smart and she is making sure i make it to college.

5. i am thankful for shalonda, because if it wasnt for her my god daughter wouldnt be here. =)

The Texas State Fair..

This is the first state fair i have every been to in another state. It was SOOOOOOO fun. We got on alot of rides. And they food was great.
